FAQs

You can contact a member of the board via email: board@tcmoa.com

There are many opportunities for homeowners to help improve their neighborhood. Each year there are openings on the board for which any homeowner may run. Attendance at monthly board meetings and special meetings of committees gives you a way to provide input and concerns. The board is always looking for volunteers to serve on various committees.

The truth about covenants is, they’re something you hate if they say you can’t do something you want to do, and something you love if they say your neighbor can’t do something you don’t want him to do. They are a group of rules that we all agreed to follow when we bought or rented a home in Turkey Creek. The agreement applies to the Declaration of covenants, Conditions and Restrictions, the Association By-laws, and the Rules and Regulations.

We have them because, when the neighborhood association was formed, they knew that to protect the beauty, desirability, and property values, there had to be a written statement of what was expected of homeowners.

Yes. They are one of the main reasons most people move here. They feel secure in knowing there won’t be a litter strewn, run down, unclean, noisy, goat-keeping, car-repairing, orange and purple housed neighbor beside them. Their elected board is required, by covenants and by-laws, to make sure that doesn’t happen.

You can find more information about the Rules and Covenants on your resident online portal under "shared documents." Also, you can locate these documents on the "Information" page on this website under "documents library."

Vehicle decals can be obtained from the Affinity Management Group Office at 11820 Turkey Creek Blvd Monday-Thursday, 10AM-4PM.

Decals should be placed on the bottom outside of the driver's side window.

Any vehicle not displaying a current decal will be stopped by the gate attendants and treated as a visiting vehicle at each entry.

Owners and renters are limited to keeping only domestic household pets, such as tropical fish, birds, cats, dogs, ferrets, guinea pigs and other mammals typically sold in licensed Florida pet stores. Possession of reptiles is prohibited.

Animals are to be under control of a leash when outside unless in a fenced yard.

Any owner of a pet that causes or creates a continuing nuisance or unreasonable disturbance will be required to permanently remove the pet from the premises, upon 3 days written notice from the Master Association Board to the owner.

Solid waste generated by a pet outside the owner’s fenced yard must be retrieved and discarded in a garbage receptacle.

Animal control will issue a warning/citation to a dog owner for allowing dogs to run loose and/or nuisance barking. However, the owner being affected by the dog in question must be willing to make the complaint and sign an affidavit that they witnessed the situation. If they are not willing to sign the affidavit, TCMOA management will not process further complaints at said address unless a representative of TCMOA management witnesses the violation.

Having a dog removed from Turkey Creek is not an easy task according to a legal opinion received by TCMOA Management. If a dog is found to be aggressive by Animal Services, it will be removed. Owners of dogs creating a nuisance by barking may be subject to violation notices and fines. However, a homeowner must be willing to sign an affidavit stating that the dog is creating a nuisance.

Please be certain of the address of the property on which the dog resides. In addition to filing a complaint with TCMOA and Animal Services, it is also possible to file a complaint with the City of Alachua Codes Department.

Cats are not allowed to roam free in Turkey Creek.

It is usually more difficult to establish ownership of cats. You may use the eforms for reporting a loose cat or submit a report in writing to TCMOA management. Please be certain of the address of the owner of the cat. You must be willing to sign an affidavit stating the conditions under which the cat was observed running loose.

The TCMOA recently bought two humane animal traps for use by TCMOA members. Animal Services will remove trapped cats if the traps are used properly. Please contact Affinity Management Group for more information.
